In 1926, following the merger of Palmolive with the Peet Brothers soap company, the group we know today was born, which was then called Palmolive Peet. In 1928, this company merged with Colgate and gave birth to Colgate Palmolive Peet, which then became Colgate-Palmolive in 1953 after separating from Peet. Note that in the meantime, in 1930, Colgate Palmolive was the first company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
