This new partnership should increase the number of Imax theaters in AMC cinemas to 138 or 148. In fact, only 8 new theatres have been confirmed so far under this agreement and will be located in the states of North Carolina, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois and California.

Universal Filmed Entertainment Group

Also recently, the group signed an agreement with Universal to broadcast the studio's films on its numerous screens throughout the United States, Europe and the Middle East. Relations between the circuit and the studio had deteriorated after the PVOD launch of Trolls 2 which had led AMC to abandon release plans for all future Universal films.
